Measurement Specialties, Inc. (USA) - Measurement Specialties presents the new universal encoder board BT360 designed for industrial applications (-40°C - +105°C) with 4-20 mA output signal in two-wire-technology for contactless 360° rotational measurements.
The BT360 is well suited for harsh environments because of the contactless measurement principle and the utilization of the long and well proven MR-technology. The BT360 is powered by 12-24 VDC and is designed as two-wire-system with a 4-20 mA current signal.
MEAS patented magneto resistive sensor technology is capable of measuring the complete 360° rotational angle. The zero angle calibration can be calibrated by customers using a third contact pin on the PCB. The linear rising part of the output signal (slope, offset) and the safety areas (angle areas with fixed output signal of Imin / Imax) can be custom-tailored by production.
As the magneto resistive sensor technology is field direction dependent, magnets of all types and shapes with a homogeneous magnetic field (field strength of 25 kA/m or more at the sensor center) can be used, providing an accuracy which is widely independent on the gap between magnet and sensor (up to several mm). This feature allows an easy integration of the encoder board in many customer specific environments, even having encoder board and magnet in different compartments, like in gauges.
With a typical angle resolution of 0.1° and a PCB diameter of less than 26mm, the BT360 encoder board is suitable for a wide range of automation and measurement applications.
On inquiry temperatures up to 125°C are possible.
