Euchner’s New Small Safe Control System MSC



Euchner GmbH + Co. KG (Germany) - The new small safe control system MSC from EUCHNER is a universal, freely programmable, modular safety system for the protection of machines and installations. It is suitable for almost all safety-related tasks and can monitor numerous safety-related devices.

The MSC offers maximum flexibility. Even with only the base unit it is possible to realize applications with up to 8 inputs and 2 outputs. Beyond this the small safe control system can be expanded with several different input and output modules. This feature makes it possible for the user to assemble the MSC to suit the specific needs. EUCHNER also offers a broad range of varying modules for connection to different fieldbuses.

Programming is undertaken conveniently via a PC using the software “EUCHNER Safety Designer”. This software has a clear layout and is straightforward and intuitive to operate. A large number of different safety functions as well as various logic operators are available for configuration. To setup the system the PC is connected directly to the base unit MSC-CB via a USB cable and the program installed. Optionally the base unit can be equipped with a memory module. A copy of the actual program is automatically saved on this module so that a faulty device can be replaced quickly in an emergency.

The MSC offers a range of types of diagnostics. From simple diagnostics via the LEDs on the front, to a detailed check with the aid of the software “EUCHNER Safety Designer”. The cause of fault can be found and fixed quickly. This feature saves time and prevents long machine downtimes.

The small safe control system MSC offers a high degree of safety. Performance Level e (PL e) and category 4 in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 are met by the base unit and all expansion modules.
