Efficient Integration in PROFIBUS PA: The FieldConnex® Temperature Multi-Input from Pepperl+Fuchs
Pepperl+Fuchs GmbH (Germany) - Temperature Multi-Input for PROFIBUS PA with 8 inputs for analog signals.

The FieldConnex® Temperature Multi-Input from Pepperl+Fuchs provides analog input connection to fieldbus segments in process automation applications. Intrinsically safe, convenient, and incurring minimal wiring costs, the device’s hardware is already proven in practice with FOUNDATION fieldbus H1. Now, the FieldConnex® Temperature Multi-Input is also available for PROFIBUS PA.

Up to 8 inputs for analog signals:
FieldConnex® process interfaces bundle the signals from multiple sensors via a single fieldbus address, and integrate them into the digital communication in a particularly efficient manner. In this way, the FieldConnex® Temperature Multi-Input (TM-I) enables up to 8 analog signals to be integrated into fieldbus communication. The device is mounted near the sensors in hazardous areas. This saves significantly on wiring costs.

Simple configuration and integration:
In addition to thermocouples and millivolt signals, 2-, 3-, and 4-wire resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) can be easily connected to the Temperature Multi-Input located in a nearby junction box. This means convenient short distances and runs for two-wire cables.

All inputs on the TM-I are intrinsically safe, even if the fieldbus connection itself is not. The inputs are quick and easy to configure all at once or on an individual basis directly from the control system. The TM-I reports cable breakage and other diagnostics to the control room enabling easy, proactive plant upkeep. For PROFIBUS PA a GSD file and a DTM are available.

Highlights at a glance:
  • FieldConnex® Temperature Multi-Input for the efficient integration of up to 8 analog signals in fieldbus communication
