HMS Industrial Networks (Sweden) – HMS Industrial Networks has released an update for their award-winning Anybus CompactCom 40-series supporting the EtherCAT Semiconductor Device Profile — also known as the ETG.5003 standard within the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG).
This means that device manufacturers targeting the growing semiconductor manufacturing industry will be able to shorten their time-to-market when developing products with EtherCAT support. The new functionality is already included in the latest firmware release.
The Anybus NP40 now enables users to implement the Common Device Profile (ETG.5003.1) and Specific Device Profile (ETG.5003.2xxx) for products like DC & RF Power Generators, Mass Flow Controllers, Process Control Valves, Roughing Pumps, Temperature Controllers, Turbo Pumps, and Vacuum Pressure Gauges — with minimal effort and without the need for in-depth knowledge of the underlying specifications.
New capabilities include support for the ETG.5003.0002 Firmware Update specification, as well as special SDO abort codes. For a full list of the new features related to the ETG.5003 standards, and for more information to get started on your design, please contact HMS.
