KR FORTEC - The new heavy-duty Robot series from KUKA
KUKA Roboter GmbH (Germany) - Strong. Stonger. KR FORTEC. In its new heavy-duty series, KUKA Roboter GmbH rounds out the heavy-duty segment. The new robots cover the payload range from 360 to 600 kg, closing the gap to the service-proven KR 1000 titan.

In the KR FORTEC series, KUKA has adapted service-proven technology to customer and product requirements of today and tomorrow, opening up a payload range which was previously not available on the market from a single source.

25 robot types cover payload ranges from 360 to 600 kg with a reach of up to 3,326 mm. In addition to the standard robots, KUKA offers variants for ceiling mounting, machine tools and the foundry sector.

Together with the KR 1000 titan, the new KR FORTEC series now forms an integrated heavy-duty portfolio.

Strength and dynamics: the name says it all:
The name KR FORTEC, derived from force and forte, stands for strength and dynamics. Just as for the KR QUANTEC series, the tec part of the word represents KUKA’s leadership in technology and innovation.

Compared to the previous series (KR 360/500), the advantages of the KR FORTEC family are clear. The conversion of the in-line wrist from belt to gear technology makes the annual belt change no longer necessary and reduces maintenance costs. For the same payload and reach, KUKA was able to increase the axis speeds by up to 18% compared to the previous series. This significantly shortens cycle times.

The change of nomenclature in the KUKA portfolio and the unchanged interfaces simplify planning and user-friendly conversion to the KR FORTEC. The consistent identical parts strategy decreases maintenance and spare parts costs. The portfolio is also extended to include the 600 kg payload range.

Design allows new cell concepts:
Its compact design without disruptive contours and its more streamlined appearance make it suitable for use in cramped cells as well as in completely new cell concepts. The KR FORTEC is also optimized for use on linear units. With the KR FORTEC series, KUKA is continuing its systematic use of energy supply systems with the service-proven K box in order to ensure durability and ease of exchange in the case of service work for this new generation of heavy-weight robots as well.

In the payload range from 360 to 600 kg, customers can now work with the more streamlined KR FORTEC robots. The 25 different product variants of the KR FORTEC series offer the highest degree of flexibility for planning the optimal automation solution. The heavy-weight robots set new standards in innovative robotics and energy-efficient drive technology – for pioneering automation and maximum customer satisfaction.
