New C-Series Checkweighers from Mettler Toledo
METTLER TOLEDO (Switzerland) - METTLER TOLEDO, one of the leading providers of product inspection technologies, is announcing the launch of the new dynamic C Series checkweighers. With the C Series, manufacturing companies can choose from a new model range, which covers all the requirements of dynamic checkweighers in production and packaging lines perfectly.

The C Series is a new range of checkweighers from Mettler-Toledo Garvens GmbH which is aligned to the demands of the market and competition of tomorrow. “Higher speeds, more dynamic product changes and smaller packaging sizes call for even more flexibility in product handling in the future, and place even greater demands on weighing accuracy,” says Markus Schade, Head of Market Management at Mettler-Toledo Garvens. “With the C Series, which we are launching worldwide, we are providing companies with the high-performance tool they need. The systems can be quickly and easily adapted when introducing new products and the user can easily ensure consistent compliance with all the relevant norms and standards.”

The new C Series comprises three main product lines:C31 StandardLine:
The entry level solution. It covers a weighing range up to 6 kilograms and is aimed primarily at manufacturers who are looking for a solution for the most common standard weighing applications. The C31 StandardLine achieves throughput rates of up to 200 units per minute and, if required, can be combined with a metal detector. In order to ensure simple and efficient integration into existing production lines. Water-protected conveyor belts and guide rails ensure fault-free product flow and minimal downtime.

C33 PlusLine:
Versatile and reliable for a wide range of packaging types and sizes. The C33 PlusLine checkweighers cover a weighing range from 7 grams to 7.5 kilograms and achieve throughput rates of up to 300 units per minute. The C33 PlusLine models are available with a variety of optional features, such as encapsulated and highly-resistant conveyor belts for the weighing of sharp granules. They are also available as a combined system with integrated metal detecting technology. The customer has a choice of three metal detectors in order to combine weight checking and foreign object detection in one compact device.

C35 AdvancedLine:
Precise and flexible. The C35 AdvancedLine checkweighers cover a weighing range from 3 grams to 10 kilograms and combines excellent throughput rates of up to 600 units per minute with the highest degree of weighing accuracy. They support a wide range of ejection, transport and conveyor belt options for a smooth and secure product flow and can be expanded at any time with components specific to the environment and application. The C35 AdvancedLine checkweighers can be integrated with all other Mettler-Toledo product inspection technologies (metal detection, visual inspection and x-ray inspection) in compact and space-saving combination systems.

Further model variants:
For environments in which heavier products must be weighed, Mettler-Toledo Garvens offers the C21 StandardLine and C23 PlusLine model variants. These systems are each designed for a weighing range from 80 grams to 80 kilograms and a throughput of up to 200 units per minute.

Open weighing platform for Industry 4.0:
C Series checkweighers are optimized for use in production lines in a wide range of sectors. All three product lines are a available with a wide range of open communication interfaces and protocols to support Industry 4.0 environments - from the simple RS-232 interface and Gareco through to fieldbus standards such as PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, PROFIBUS DP and DeviceNet and OPC DA/UA. Using real-time monitoring of the relevant critical control points (CCPs) guarantees end-to-end compliance of standards such as HACCP and HARPC.

Hygienic and modular design:
The design of the new models is thoroughly optimized for use in harsh production environments. The robust and sturdy four-tube design ensures the checkweighers are insensitive to vibrations and also contributes to their measuring accuracy. The waterproof stainless steel housing can be quickly and easily cleaned, as the beveled edges and round tubes mean there are no horizontal surfaces. The design for all checkweighers therefore corresponds to the hygiene regulations ISO 14-159 for the specified environment and also follows the EHEDG guidelines. With the C31 and C33 models, the control cabinet is mounted in front of the weighing belt so that the user does not have to reach over the weighing belt when accessing the control panel. This allows increases operator safety and helps to avoid contamination falling onto the production line.
