Polywell Computers, Inc (United States): Press Release In a number of applications, computer hardware and embedded calculators have to work under harsh environmental conditions. This is not only working in the hot shop of an open-hearth furnace or on a polar station, for example. High- and low-temperature environments can be found in many applications: industrial automation, video surveillance, digital signage, information kiosks, boundary calculations, etc.
On the market today there are quite a few offers of PCs from different manufacturers that are able to withstand the extreme environmental influences. Perhaps their common feature is high prices, usually several times higher than the cost of an ordinary PC in a comparable configuration.
Polywell Computers, true to its principles of reasonable pricing ensuring optimal price/quality ratio, announces the start of supplies to the Russian market of mini-industrial class PCs with extended temperature range, whose price tag is not capable of causing fainting for enterprise purchasers and system integrators.
For example, the Nano-U8FL2C6 mini PC can be supplied with 8th generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3/Celeron®-u processors.
The system supports up to 32 GB of RAM, has two Gigabit network cards, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth modules, and supports up to 3 video outputs (HDMI AND DP as standard and LVDS/eDP connector on the motherboard, which can also be used on demand). An M.2 SSD of size 2280 can be used as a storage device. Optionally available with a PCIe x8 slot.
It has a wide range of I/O ports. There are four USB 3.1 ports. For industrial applications, the motherboard has RS232 (up to 4 ports) and RS485 (up to 2 ports) connectors, a universal GPIO connector and two SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) connectors.
Such powerful equipment already makes this PC a valuable and versatile acquisition for any industrial information system or process control system.
But it can also operate in the temperature range from -20° C to +60° C, withstand storage temperatures from -40° C to +75° C, and withstand serious shock and vibration loads.
Polywell Computers will be happy to supply PCs with extended temperature ranges to its customers. However, due to the extremely difficult situation in the electronic components market caused by the pandemic, lead times can be quite long. We recommend that you place your orders in advance to ensure delivery on time.
