British Engines is a leading engineering group with a long heritage since 1922. The group’s eight businesses design and manufacture technology leading products for, as well as provide services to, a wide range of industries including the renewables, digital, defence, power, nuclear, aerospace, robotics, oil and gas, chemical, marine, construction and agriculture sectors.

British Engines was founded in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1922, building on the region’s rich engineering heritage and local skills base. The group now employs 1,200 people.

Where are we?

Our businesses are all based in North East England; we have seven manufacturing facilities in the region, as far north as Cramlington and as far south as Durham.

These factories are supported by a network of offices in key locations around the world. We have offices in 12 countries including America, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Russia, India and throughout Europe.

What do we do?

We offer best in class solutions designed in-house by our engineers and made by our skilled workers within our integrated production facilities. Our products range from cable glands and cleats to hydraulic pumps and motors; and from valves and actuators to power transmission products, complemented by our export and sub-contract machining services.
