Minebea Intec Load Cell Inteco® with converter Connexx®

Analogue and digital: the new load cell Inteco comes with an upgrade

The load cell Inteco, a new, innovative enhancement to its successful predecessor, the PR 6201 load cell, provides customers from various industries with a significantly extended range of possibilities – from simple fill quantity control to high-precision weighing of even the heaviest silos and containers.

  • The analogue output signal of 2 mV/V sets a standard on the market and ensures flexibility when selecting weighing electronics
  • Higher load levels of up to 75 t  allow even the heaviest silos and containers to be weighed safely and ensures a more economic weighing solution, for example with three load cells instead of four
  • Expanded accuracy classes and increased precision are documented by C6 approval
  • A new type of stainless steel makes the load cell Inteco resistant to corrosion and prolongs the service life in challenging environments, such as the chemical industry

Analogue or digital? The load cell Inteco can do both

  • Fitted with the converter Connexx, the Inteco can be installed easily and economically without the need for a cable junction box
  • Fast signalling times ensure reliable, precise dosing processes and optimal transparency. Weight values can also be generated individually – per load cell – meaning that defective load cells can easily be identified and replaced
  • The standard interface CANopen ensures straightforward commissioning and calibration via PC. It is also possible to use cables up to 200 m in length

Strain Measurement Devices S251 Thin-Film Strain Gauge Load Cell
Strain Measurement Devices

Strain Measurement Devices S251 Thin-Film Strain Gauge Load Cell

The S251 Load Cell is a low profile, single point sensor that offers high accuracy for force measurements. These miniature load cells are only 0.71″ high, with a 3,000 Ω thin film strain gage bridge for extremely low power consumption. Capacities range from 200 g to 10 kg-force, full scale, the S251 also has a high range option that has the capacity for up to 50 kg-force.

The thin-film manufacturing process allows the creation of a high resistance full bridge without the use of glues or organic materials between the flexure and the metal sensing film.  These sensors will last forever as long as they are protected, meaning the base metal flexure is never plastically deformed. When stresses below the yield point of the host flexure are maintained these sensors will perform for many million cycles faithfully retaining their initial zero offset.  This means that your measurements will always be accurate and there won’t be any need for zero re-calibration either before or after an extended test.

Datum Electronics RS425 Contactless Torque Sensor
Datum Electronics Ltd

Datum Electronics RS425 Contactless Torque Sensor

Unlike traditional inline torque sensors, Datum Electronics’ RS425 range of torque transducers offer a unique advantage, as they are completely contactless, not limited by operational speeds and have no wear and tear. Additionally, they provide a variety of analogue and digital outputs for all eventualities.

The RS425 torque sensors utilise high-accuracy strain gauge technology and cutting-edge rotating on-shaft electronics, providing precise and reliable torque measurement in many practical applications, such as: transmissions, powertrains, wind generators, gas turbines, and many more.  With the option to choose the sample rate from 1 up to 4,000 sps, they provide a wide torque measurement range from 0-3Nm up to 30kNm (as standard). Datum has also successfully applied the same modular elements to our large OEM torque sensors up to 14MNm and above.

Initially, the RS425 contactless torque sensor is easily integrated into an existing system or drive line, where the space envelope is too small to fit a standard inline torque sensor. To facilitate this, the standard model RS425 torque sensor has a completely separate rotor and stator, where the rotor can be specifically designed to fit in a limited shaft space, from as little as 105 mm (which can be reduced upon request).

Secondly, due to its unique design, the RS425 contactless torque sensor can compensate for minor mechanical misalignment issues in test rigs, allowing for even easier integration.

Penultimately, having a separate rotor and stator with a 2-5 mm gap, the RS425 contactless torque sensor is ideal for higher speed applications, ensuring no long-term wear of bearings, or frictional loads affecting rig performance.  It also makes the torque sensors compatible with very harsh and difficult environments, submersible and fully sealed underwater torque applications.

Finally, when connected to the Datum Universal Interface (DUI), the RS425 torque sensor provides a full range of digital and analogue outputs, as well as a digital display of torque, speed, and power in real time. Additionally, the torque output data can be simultaneously transferred to a memory stick, or a PC for subsequent torque data analysis, as well as performance monitoring and control.

HBM C6B Force Transducer
HBK - Hottinger Brüel & Kjaer

HBM C6B Force Transducer

The C6B force sensor is outstanding for its particularly attractive price-to-performance ratio. The sensor design draws from the principle used in compression bars. The C6B enjoys very small displacements, which is ideal for the rapid measurement of large forces, for instance, in impact tests or fast fitting processes. Other typical fields of application include the harsh environments found in the construction, heavy, and metal processing industries. Additionally, the sensor can be utilized for dynamic measurements in research and development. The C6B is much more robust and flexible than its predecessor model, the C6A. Different types of connection can be used and the C6B is optionally available with a customized force application part. The versions up to 2 MN come with an internal bore that enables the use of a fold-back arm. This has proven particularly useful in anchor monitoring or the measurement of rope tension.

  • HBM accuracy class: 0.5
  • Nominal (rated) measuring ranges: 200 kN to 10 MN
  • Degree of protection: IP68
