GIROPÈS SL (Spain) - Press Release: Giropes Installs a New KUKA Welding Robot in its Industrial Building.
During the last few years, Giropes has been investing heavily in R&D, and one of its strategic lines in terms of internal improvements has always been the continuous modernisation and improvement of its production machinery.
In connection with the improvement of the facilities to improve production efficiency, we at Giropes also aim to reduce the environmental impact as much as possible - an important factor in the choice of the spray booth and the machining centre installed in the last two years.
Continuing with this line of investment, this year we decided to invest in the modernisation of robotics in the large-tonnage scale production plant.
To this end, the replacement of the robotised welding line was proposed in order to improve the robotised system itself, but also with a view to energy savings and improving energy efficiency.
Robotic MIG-MAG arc welding will allow us to continue moving towards the automation of repetitive tasks and to improve the safety of workers in the plant.
Other goals of replacing the old robot included improving production capacity and the quality of the final product through the speed and precision of the new KUKA robot.
The new robot and the turners mean that while the programmed welding is being done on one side, the other turner is free to change the module, start the next one and continue with the production process in the next stage. In this way, plant downtimes are reduced and the overall productive and energy efficiency of manufacturing is increased.
